FuturismFuture Nostalgia In Architecture
The future of nostalgia in architecture refers to the concept of architectural design that draws inspiration from the past, combined with innovation and modern technology to create spaces that are not limited to beauty, but also have meanings that connect with culture, society, and nature in the present and the future, with the aim of preserving the values of the past that enhance the way of life that responds to the needs of people in the future. Meanwhile, contemporary architecture in this era emphasizes looking ahead to create buildings that are modern and comfortable, relying on modern technology and knowledge rather than building on knowledge from the past, which can sometimes cause designs to lose connection with their original roots.
The "Future Nostalgia in Architecture" competition is an invitation for architectural designers to use this definition to find creative approaches and design works that connect the past in terms of society, culture, people, nature, place, and time through knowledge, tools, and modern technology that is not limited by space and size, using Thailand as a case study to create a new form of futuristic architecture that recalls the past through the present, leading to future architecture together.
