Architectkidd is an architecture & design practice based in Bangkok, Thailand. The office is directed by Udomsak Komovilas, Jariyawadee Lekawatana & Luke Yeung.
In recent projects, Architectkidd have been interested in material processes as a starting point for architectural design. Thailand possesses a rich abundance of resources in raw materials and traditional construction techniques, but when it comes to contemporary buildings, it can be challenging to implement ideas outside of established and accepted norms.
By focusing on the study and development of techniques, particularly those that relate to materials and production, Architectkidd aims to generate new insights built upon seemingly ordinary conditions. In addition to the potential for re-introducing notions of 'crafting' in building construction, this pragmatic approach has allowed the practice to open up other possibilities and to influence broader programmatic, functional and typological strategies.
สำนักงานสถาปนิก คิดดี ก่อตั้งโดย อุดมศักดิ์ โกมลวิลาศ จริยาวดี เลขะวัฒนะ และ ลุค ยัง แนวทางในการทำงานของสำนักงานสถาปนิก คิดดี เน้นกระบวนการนำวัสดุมาใช้เป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของกระบวนการออกแบบ โดยมีแนวคิดและรูปแบบที่ท้าทายไปจากบรรทัดฐานของสังคม ทั้งยังเน้นถึงกระบวนการศึกษาและพัฒนากลวิธีที่เกี่ยวข้องกับวัสดุและการผลิตวัสดุ เพื่อที่จะสร้างความเข้าใจใหม่อย่างลึกชึ้งถึง ‘ของธรรมดา’ ที่ปรากฏอยู่ แนวทางในการออกแบบยังการแสวงหาโอกาสในการนำ ‘งานฝีมือ’ กลับเข้าสู่กระบวนการก่อสร้าง ซึ่งทั้งหมดนี้เปิดโอกาสและส่งอิทธิพลต่อการกำหนดยุทธศาสตร์ของ การกระจายรูปแบบ การกำหนดประโยชน์ใช้สอย และเนื้อหารายละเอียดโครงการของอาคาร
