ไม้เป็นวัสดุหลักของโครงสร้างหลักของ Mor-Baan โดย Atelier2+ มีความสนใจวัสดุที่อยู่เบื้องหลังของงานสถาปัตยกรรม เช่น ไม้แบบ ไม้ค้ำยัน หรือไม้ที่ใช้ทำนั่งร้านในการก่อสร้าง วัสดุเหล่านี้เป็นวัสดุที่มีความสำคัญในการสร้างสถาปัตยกรรมแต่ไม่เคยถูกนำมาใช้เป็นองค์ประกอบหลักของงานสถาปัตยกรรม ไม้เป็นวัสดุที่ราคาถูก หาง่ายในแต่ละพื้นที่ โดยแต่ละท้องที่ก็มักจะใช้แตกต่างกัน ซึ่งสะท้อนถึง Vernacular Living อีกมุมหนึ่ง นอกจากแนวความคิดเรื่องวัสดุในการออกแบบ เราพยายามที่จะนำวัสดุที่ใช้สร้างพาวิเลียนกลับมาใช้ใหม่ จึงได้ออกแบบให้ไม้แบบและไม้ค้ำยันถูกตัดน้อยครั้งที่สุด โดยที่ผสานองค์ประกอบของสิ่งก่อสร้างและเฟอร์นิเจอร์เข้าด้วยกัน

Working mainly with wood, Atelier2+ brought about the pavilion dubbed "Mor-Baan" from this natural material that they are closely familiar with. The designers rendered wooden beams, slabs and columns into an architecutral breakthrough, transforming these from their normally marginal roles into the star under the spotlight. A local, easily accessible material, wood immediately reflects the concept of "Vernacular Living" in their plain expression. With the aim of re-using these wooden pieces afterwards, the designers limited their intervention with the raw materials to the minimum, preserving the columns in their original and adapting to integrate usage as furniture at the same time.
