Studiomake เป็นสำนักงานออกแบบในกรุงเทพที่ก่อตั้งในปี 2009 โดย David Schafer และ Im Sarasalin Schafer ภรรยาผู้ล่วงลับ David Schafer ทำงานเป็นทั้งสถาปนิกและนักประดิษฐ์ เขาจบการศึกษาจากด้านสถาปัตยกรรมจาก University of Arizona และด้าน Fine Arts จาก Cranbrook Academy of Art ในส่วนของแรงบันดาลใจ Studiomake ได้รับอิทธิพลจากทั้งประเพณี เทคโนโลยี และการตั้งคำถามอย่างต่อเนื่อง แนวทางการทำงานของ Studiomake นั้นผสานการออกแบบและการก่อสร้างเข้าไว้ด้วยกันโดยมิได้แบ่งแยก พื้นที่ซึ่งเหลื่อมกันระหว่างสถาปัตยกรรม การออกแบบภายใน เครื่องเรือน และการออกแบบวัตถุต่างๆ นี้ได้เป็นพื้นที่ของการค้นคว้าด้วยทีมสถาปนิกและช่างฝีมือในสำนักงานและสตูดิโอ Studiomake ทำงานในเสกลที่หลากหลายและตอบสนองต่อสถานการณ์จริง ซึ่งทำให้ค้นพบความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างวัสดุและเครื่องมือต่างๆ อันนำมาสู่การเชื่อมโยงและมุมมองใหม่ๆ ในการทำงาน Studiomake มีโครงการที่มีชื่อเสียงมากมายอาทิ Dude Cigar Bar, Baan Sai Ma, Pattana Gallery และ Guan Yin Pavilion นอกจากการออกแบบแล้ว David Schafer ยังสอน furniture design และ Graduate Program Design Studio ที่คณะศิลปะและการออกแบบ มหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต อีกด้วย
Studiomake is a Bangkok-based design office founded by David Schafer and his late partner, Im Sarasalin Schafer, since 2009. David Schafer is an architect and fabricator. He studied architecture at the University of Arizona and fine arts at Cranbrook Academy of Art. Studiomake is inspired by tradition, technology, and constant questioning. The studio works in an integrated approach where the act of design and the act of construction have no distinct boundaries. The overlapping realms of architecture, interiors, furniture and object design are explored by the team of architects and craftsmen in their studio and workshops. Working in full scale and real time allows the studio to experience the relationships between materials and tools to make new connections and perspectives for their projects. Studiomake’s renowned projects include Dude Cigar Bar, Baan Sai Ma, Pattana Gallery, and Guan Yin Pavilion. Schafer teaches Furniture Design and Graduate Program Design Studio at the Faculty of Art and Design, Rangsit University, Thailand.
