Session Name: "Nothing comes from nothing" Parmenides, a Greek philosopher in the 5th century BC."
Speaker : Lek Mathar Bunnag
Position : Managing Director, Bunnag Architects International Consultants
Synopsis: Past, Present, and Future did not, do not, and will not happen from nothing.
In order to be creative, we have to "cut the bridge to the past"
try to create architecture of the "Present" (Herenow).
In order to create architecture that is close to "Present Perfect",
we have to use both our "feeling" and "thinking" not one or the other.
This does not mean we should throw away "Our Past",
but instead, it is necessary for us to take a very good care of "Our Past"
in order for us to be stimulated, inspired, feeling secure and proud of being "Thai".
"A positive attitude toward the past can lead to a positive future." Prof. Eduard F. Sekler, GSD, Havard University.
